Two People Displaced After House Fire In South Jersey

A home caught fire in Manchester Township, authorities said.

Manchester Township police responded to the house fire on Conestoga Drive in the Whiting section of the township at around 5:13 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 3, the department said in a news release. Officers found smoke coming from the back of the home and called firefighters to the scene.

Everyone inside the home got out safely and no one was injured. Crews put out the fire and a building inspector determined the home was uninhabitable.

The American Red Cross said it was helping a family of two displaced by the fire. The group was assisting them with immediate needs like food, clothing, and housing.

The Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office determined that the fire was accidental.
